I have been a husband for almost 33 years and a dad for over 24 years. On November 1, 2017, after 26 years as an electrical engineer for a wireless telephone company, I was able to retire at age 56.
To help out the community I drive a school bus and to help our country I am what would be best described as a facilities engineer for a portable disaster hospital that is operated by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
In case you are wondering, everything fit together quite well. Before I retired, when I drove the bus, I could easily make it to work on time and when I got called to duty by the federal government, federal laws required my employers to let me leave my jobs without penalty and return to my jobs when I got back. So, the other jobs would be put on hold….and, away I went.
For hobbies, I restore old radios, shoot rifles and pistols at targets, work on my own cars–everything from oil changes to engine rebuilds, fiddle around in the kitchen, garden, and do whatever needs to be done around the house.
