I have been a husband for more than 28 years, a dad for 19 years and a telephone company electrical engineer for 25 years.
To help out the community I drive a school bus and to help our country I am what would be best described as a facilities engineer for a portable disaster hospital that is operated by the US Department of Health and Human Services.
In case you are wondering, the jobs actually fit together quite well. When I drive the bus in the mornings I have no problem getting to the phone company job on time. And, when I get called to duty by the federal government, federal laws require my employers to let me leave without penalty and to hold my jobs open until I get back. So, the other two jobs get put on hold….and, away I go.
For hobbies, I restore old radios, shoot rifles and pistols at targets, work on my own cars–everything from oil changes to engine rebuilds, fiddle around in the kitchen, garden, and do whatever needs to be done around the house.
