CJ3A — CJ5

Tomorrow my wife and I are going up into the nearby mountains for a day trip.

So, today I spent the afternoon doing routine maintenance on the 1950 CJ3A Jeep and the 1964 CJ5 Jeep.  The Jeeps have the original drive train and I don’t know if a modern auto tech could handle the old stuff, but since I find the work relaxing, I do it myself.

The original drive train also means that the maximum comfortable speed is 45-50 miles per hour. So, if you see a yellow flat fender Jeep and an older light green  CJ5 “crawling along” in the right lane of the highway, wave.   If it looks like you can’t easily pass us, we will, as soon as it’s safe, pull over so you can get by.
